Tutoring Initiative
Tony He is a high school student from Massachusetts who has focused on utilizing tutoring to ignite interest in STEM in rural communities.

Through grassroots tutoring, he has helped many students in the local community identify their strengths and apply them to their passion as they continue their academic career.

In addition to academics, he has led the initiative “Ware it Again” in which members of the local NAHS chapter collected and donated slightly used quality clothing to help support families with financial difficulties. Furthermore, he has started a local art supply drive to give elementary school students materials they need to draw their interests into reality.

At the Science Summit at the UN General Assembly 78, Tony He is a speaker at the event 'Youth Changemakers in STEM and Advocacy: Empowering Youth Leaders Globally to Achieve the SDGs'. He will share his experience as a long term tutor and discuss how tutoring can encourage underrepresented communities to take the leap of faith and engage in STEM to achieve the Sustainable Developmental Goals.
