‘Without universal AI literacy, AI will fail us’. AI is already transforming every aspect of our personal and professional lives and is expected to be a major focus of all governments and companies. Such an enormous shift requires transforming hundreds of millions of people towards data-oriented jobs. Current education and skills and upskilling strategies are falling behind the market need, and there is a high risk of masses of people becoming technology illiterate. Designing new ways people can learn AI fast and in an affordable and effective way is key to engaging with these challenges in a scalable and constructive way.
This session will explore the idea of building global virtual communities of practice that have already proven effective. It will also look to gain insight into scaling this idea to become a global digital cooperation between nations, that wants to secure a safe, ethical, and truly human-oriented future of AI.
The session will also look at the necessary regulatory and policy-enabling environment in order for the AI skills gap to be addressed, with particular reference to less developed nations.
