ISC and its partners will organise the 9th edition of the Science Summit around the 78th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA78) on 12-29 September 2023.
The role and contribution of science to attaining the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) will be the central theme of the Summit. The objective is to develop and launch science collaborations to demonstrate global science mechanisms and activities to support the attainment of the UN SDGs, Agenda 2030 and Local2030. The meeting will also prepare input for the United Nations Summit of the Future, which will take place during UNGA79 beginning on 12 September 2024.

Registration
You can see the programme without registering but to JOIN any Virtual or In-Person session you need to register. Registration will allow you to select the sessions you want to attend. Only by selecting the session, you will see the button link to access the Video Stream.

To select a session click on the white circle near the session title. By doing that, you will be creating your own schedule called "My schedule". Once you have selected your sessions, see your schedule by hovering over your profile picture and selecting “My Schedule”.

Schedule

The programme contains around 300 science sessions on how to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. It is advised to filter them by Type, Date, Venue and Virtual/In-Person to help identifying the sessions you want to attend. 

The session capacity is unlimited for Virtual sessions. For In-Person sessions the limit is set up individually in each session.

An evening of storytelling from researchers working at the forefront of SDGs 5, 7 and 10, brought together by Springer Nature and the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN).

This special Science Summit edition of Springer Nature Storytellers, in partnership with SDSN,  highlights the personal stories of researchers and their work in areas relating to Affordable and Clean Energy (SDG 7), with added insights into Gender Equality (SDG 5) and Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10). 

Inspirational, captivating, and definitely surprising, you will hear about the experiences of experts on the cutting edge of their respective fields, who have been specially trained for this event by The Story Collider. 

Our speakers will explore topics related to social justice, the role of women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), and consider the post-SDG agenda.

The event will be hosted by Laura Helmuth, Editor-in-Chief of Scientific American, and there will be a chance for you to ask your questions during the Q&A panel.
