An evening of storytelling from researchers working at the forefront of SDGs 5, 7 and 10, brought together by Springer Nature and the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN).

This special Science Summit edition of Springer Nature Storytellers, in partnership with SDSN,  highlights the personal stories of researchers and their work in areas relating to Affordable and Clean Energy (SDG 7), with added insights into Gender Equality (SDG 5) and Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10).

Inspirational, captivating, and definitely surprising, you will hear about the experiences of experts on the cutting edge of their respective fields, who have been specially trained for this event by The Story Collider.

Our speakers will explore topics related to social justice, the role of women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), and consider the post-SDG agenda.
The event will be hosted by Laura Helmuth, Editor-in-Chief of Scientific American, and there will be a chance for you to ask your questions during the Q&A panel.

Our Storytellers will be:
  • Dr. Naaborle Sackeyfio, Associate Professor Global and Intercultural Studies, Miami University.
  • Dr. Jennifer Russell, Assistant Professor in Sustainable Biomaterials, Virginia Tech.
  • Dr. Kathleen J. Hancock, Associate Professor of Political Science, Colorado School of Mines.
