Chinmayi Balusu
Simply Neuroscience Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Chinmayi Balusu pursued her Bachelor of Arts in Medical Humanities and Master of Public Health with a focus on
neuro- and psychiatric epidemiology from
Columbia University in New York City, graduating as the youngest member of her class at 19 years old. Her research interests lie in
cross-cultural neuroethics, global health, youth science communication, and clinical outcomes of brain injury and stroke.
Chinmayi is the founder and CEO of
Simply Neuroscience, a global non-profit organisation expanding student involvement in neuroscience and psychology through interdisciplinary education, outreach, and awareness initiatives. Simply Neuroscience is one of the world’s largest neuroscience learning communities for students, positively impacting 40,000+ young brain enthusiasts across 119 countries. Chinmayi is on a mission to revolutionise the world of early neuroscience education — creating a world where youth can pursue their curiosity and passion for the brain, regardless of their location, age, identity, or background.
Beyond her work at Simply Neuroscience as the founder and CEO, Chinmayi also serves in leadership and advisory roles with STEM advocacy platforms such as
500 Women Scientists, HFC, American Brain Coalition, International Neuroethics Society, and
ALBA Network. She is an alumna of the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, National History Day California, and USA National Brain Bee. Her hobbies include taking long walks, practising taekwondo, gardening, watching Telugu movies with family, and exploring museums. Learn more:
